The UMP has the great privilege to host the 32nd IADR-SEA and 29th SEAADE to be held in Da Nang city, Vietnam, the so called most “worth living” coastal city of Vietnam which is where the APEC Summit took place recently in November 2017. The theme of the meeting “A vision for excellence in dental education and research” well reflects our common goal and endeavours as dental educators and dental researchers to promote Dentistry in our Region and over the world.
Vietnam Dental Education is currently confronted with the great challenge of the imminent implementation of the Mutual Recognition Agreement and our dental schools are in the process of a comprehensive and in-depth revision of the curriculum to shift to a competency based one which will better prepare our trainees to reach the regional standard competencies for newly graduated dentists.
Besides, we are all aware that dental research is the most important issue in the Region and needs to be promoted to a higher level in order to effectively support dental education and dental practice.
This side by side meeting is truly a unique platform for all dental educators and researchers of the region to share their expertise and experience in a spirit of mutual friendship and commitment to the prosperity of the region.
I heartedly welcome all of you to the 32nd IADR-SEA and the 29th SEAADE meetings, from September 11th to 14th, 2018. I trulybelieve that the meetings will enrich you with the latest advances in Dentistry and leave you with memorable moments.

To change or to be changed in this changing world, the decision is depended on ourself. Center of the world will be moved from west to east in the coming year. South East Asia is a newly developed area in Asia, which will be the global center in the next decade.
With the growing of the economic condition, health becomes a noticeable issue in South East Asia, while dentistry plays an important role to keep people in good health. In this circumstances, dental education becomes more and more important.
In order to achieve the goal of SEAADE, which is to improve the knowledge of those interested in dentistry by increased communication and exchange of scientific information as well as to stimulate the profession toward greater awareness of dentistry, we will get together to seek better achievement toward this goal and even spread the glorious production global-wide.
As the President of SEAADE, it is my pleasure and privilege to welcome you. I strongly believe that this meeting will provide a meaningful dialogue that will advance the solutions for dental education and will lead to stronger collaboration among different institutions.
A successful meeting composed mainly of three parts. First is the local organization committee, thanks to the effort of the LOC team from Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, to make this meeting meaningful. Second is all the speakers. Last but not least, the most important, is the participants. We’ve preparing a fruitful meeting for you, and we are ready to welcome you in Da Nang. Please join us!
